organic mom on a Budget/time crunch

Lets just say over the past five years eating organic has always intrigued me… BUT, of course I had a lot of questions like:

is it really better for me and my family? is it too expensive to afford? Is it inconvenient to search for only organic?

Even with these questions looming, I  committed to ‘go organic.’ And surprisingly i have found  the answers to these questions had fairly easy answers.

It is for this reason (and a few more…) that I have decided to share my stories of success in going organic.  What really inspired me to want to write a blog such as this; Is sharing information, success stories, recipes with friends, family and anyone interested in learning about going organic because I truly believe it will positively affect their health and well-being. I don’t want to be overbearing telling everyone why they need to eat organic especially when they are not asking my opinion. However, I believe having the opportunity to share my experiences has potential.

This journey of going organic is an ongoing and ever changing transition.  I still do not eat ONLY organic… however I have been successful in converted milk, eggs, meat, chicken, fruits and vegetables, most snacks…to organic only,  I feel big changes only happen when people make  little changes like these.

Some readers might be way ahead of me with organic experiences and others might think it is not worthwhile to be more organic.  My goal is to provide readers an opportunity read about, learn about, discuss, share and try practical/affordable ways of eating organically.

Lastly, I have to be honest I am a much better “talker” than writer… but, I am going to do my best.  I am not a doctor. I am not a researcher. I am a working mother of two beautiful children trying to provide the most nutritious diet I can for my family.  Americans in general have a lot of health issues that are FOOD related.. whether it is  allergies, eczema , skin disorders, cancer, thyroid issues, obesity, etc.

I have thought about writing this blog for along time and I believe now is the time to do so.  If I can inspire 1 person or 1 family to convert to eating organic,  then I  have accomplished my mission.

Here are to my goals for this blog. 1. provide the facts/benefits to eating organic. 2. provide shopping list and recipes. 3. ideas for saving time/money 4. list of local farmers.

So let me ask some you how many of you eat organic and why?  And for those that are have you thought about it , and what are your challenges. what is your average grocery bill a month?

I am so excited to star this journey and cant wait to hear your feedback

Sincerely,

Denise
